Here are some tips for booking the BEST boudoir experience for you!

Maybe you're new to your boudoir search or have been humming and hawing for a while. WELL, you're in luck I am laying out amazing guidelines in this blog post to help nail down your search for the best boudoir experience ever!!! You will want to make sure your Boudoir Photographer resonates with the guidelines that resonate the most with you. So let's get this party started and dive right in.

Do you see your body type in the photographer's portfolio?

This is a BIG one, while no two bodies are alike I feel strongly that finding a similar representation of yourself will put you more at ease. It will increase your confidence and level of comfort. Knowing your photographer is comfortable and knowledgeable about creating art with different body types will most often help you to feel more secure. As well it may be important to you that your Boudoir Photographer is body image positive and is respectful of any insecurities you may have all while empowering you to embrace yourself powerfully and lovingly.

Does the photographer's portfolio match the vision and artistic style you truly love?

This may seem pretty straightforward, but I feel it's worth a mention! Take your time and really see yourself in the way the photographer shoots. Are you more of a light and airy lover or do you feel excited about dark and moody vibes? Do you like how boudoir photographer poses their clients and want to recreate those poses for yourself?

I personally am a dark and moody vibe, you can check out my portfolio here: Portfolio

Does your photographer offer prep guides and support before your session?

No one likes feeling unprepared, and there are A LOT of things that go into a boudoir experience. There is a good amount of planning and prep before you even step into a studio that will help you on your big day. Your photographer should be laying it all out for you clearly and be of assistance with any questions or even concerns. I have created an exclusive prep guide, send out questionnaires and offer email support to help prepare my clients for their session and be of assistance. I truly feel that this helps my client feel more at ease and comfortable with me on the day of their session.

Does your photographer offer flexible payment options?

Let's face it a boudoir experience can definitely be an investment. Having the option to do a payment plan can make it affordable and more attainable. When you inquire with me you will receive my full investment guide. During our phone or in-person consult, we go over what it is you desire to purchase and create a personalized payment plan according to your budget! My clients have always loved this option and it really takes the pressure off come the day of their session as it's one less unknown decision that must be made.

Does your Boudoir Photographer offer the products you truly want?

Be sure when you're booking that your photographer offers the products you desire. A good majority of photographers offer digitals, however, you won't find the best quality for product production going outside the professional print labs your photographer is calibrated for! My clients absolutely love my luxury handmade Albums and Metal Wall art. I also offer some very fun add on's such as Ice Blocks, Retro View Finders, Custom Calendars and more. I truly feel that physical products are way more meaningful than simply viewing them on your phone! So do yourself the honour you deserve and put an emphasis on investing in them, You will thank me later!

Does your photographer offer Hair and Makeup in their session fee?

This one is purely based on preference, it may not matter to you at all and that's A-ok!

I have found that my clients absolutely LOVE getting pampered by my HUMA team. I include it in my session fee for all my clients and I feel that having this option provided by well-known and established artists I trust adds to an already amazing day in the studio! As well not having to organize and deal with this yourself makes the day more seamless.

Researching Credibility.

It is pretty easy to see how others feel about their experience with different businesses. Boudoir photography is no different. Check out their websites for customer testimonials, google for reviews etc. Seriously do some research! You want to feel safe, heard, informed and welcome when booking a boudoir photographer. This is a very intimate and vulnerable experience, knowing your photographer creates a safe space for their clients is important and seeing how others describe their experience is REALLY important for validity.
